Exactly, um. Does anyone have any tips for how to... like, not go broke? How do people keep track of money? How do you not run out?

I plead lack of maturity, lack of understanding of the value of a... whatever the unit of currency is here, I don't even know.

And yeah, okay, if you all want a good laugh at my expense, my foster father is a billionaire, both through inheritance and being the CEO of a worldwide corporation. Go ahead, I've heard all the rich kid jokes and I don't really care, I'd just be grateful, in return, for a little--

Other than working, which should be obvious enough, you need to make a budget and stick to it. Count up how much you need to spend on necessities, put some money aside for them and some others to save up in an emergency. You need all the money, especially when you're under eighteen years old.

Once you hit eighteen, you can apply for full-time hours instead of part-time.

Yeah, that's not for another four and a half years.

In other words, I need to set limits and stick to that... okay. I haven't saved my receipts, but what do you usually find yourself spending the most money on? And how do you mitigate that?

Mostly by keeping the receipts and recording my expenses. That way, I can pinpoint how much I spend on a weekly basis.

I usually save money by getting what I need and find cheaper prices. If you just arrive at a new city, spend some time checking out all the possible stores. If you're going to stay around for a while, you should try memorising all the cheap places.

After that...mostly trial and error, so you can figure out the right balance for yourself.

In other words-- pay attention. Pay attention and actually try.

Compared to the bigger cities, it doesn't have a lot in it. So most people are either in Goldenrod, Olivine or Celadon.

I kinda like the low profile, honestly. I live in a huge city back home. This is pleasant.

It must be. I live in a big city back home as well, but each place here got their own appeal. Probably why I haven't pick a place to settle down in yet.

This place really invites the nomad life. I mean, unless you watch for eggs obsessively [g-u-i-l-t-y] on the network, you're kind of stuck with the local Pokemon. Not exactly that much variety.

There's the Breeding Centre, but if you want a specific Pokemon and they don't have it, you gotta search for it yourself.

Not that I'm complaining, since I can travel around and no one would think it's weird.

Yeah. Even before this happened, I wanted to get settled in and ready to go before adventuring, though. I'm just a little cautious, I guess.

Being cautious isn't a bad thing, just as long you don't forget to enjoy yourself.

No, I got Caroline as an egg. My starter is Taillow, but Carrie's a close second.

Yeah, when she's not cowering in fear of water fountains. It's more that she likes people to understand she's the baby. Even though she's not, anymore.

But sometimes it's cute, you know? That she's frightened of little things. Frustrating, because I have no idea how to deal with it, but still a little cute.

That's a valid option.

Just show her that she's not alone, and she'll eventually get over it. Even if it may take a while.

I'm trying. She gets picked up and carried a lot. Possibly feeding jealousy, but I don't like the look of the PC.

I mean, that could be irrational, since they're already in Pokeballs. You can tell me it's irrational.

Just keep at it, and it'll pays off in the long run. A pretty long, long run at this rate.

That depends on how you look at it, if you ask me. If they're with us, you can let them out of their Pokeballs whenever you want.

Yeah. It just sounds lonely otherwise. If they could socialize among themselves in there, I think that'd be okay.

Maybe a bit of personal experience, except mine doesn't think she's still a baby. She's just...clingy.

You could always ask them about that.
