Hey! Got a problem again. Not nearly ninety-nine of 'em, just one. And not directly financial, either, thanks to everyone who helped me out there.

[He's... relaxing. Somewhere up high, judging by the tops of buildings in the background. He's sweaty, too, having been getting ready for the fighting tournament.]

This is more personal.

See, I recently started dating. Huge adventure, very exciting, and I know I mentioned being a spoiled rich boy before, but what I didn't mention was that my primary role model was also a spoiled rich guy. So. Yeah.

Any advice on how to make a lady feel special? How to figure out what she wants without asking? Just because I want to seem psychic, you understand, aaand asking my Pokemon seems a little unfair.

All help gratefully received by me, and I hope to hear from anyone who has an actual clue.

[He tosses the Pokegear in the air, and catches it with aplomb.]

I guess then we'll see everyone at the tournament. And if you talk to Katara, please don't mention that I-- oh.

[Katara looks a little sweaty herself, as she's also been getting ready for the tournament, and her Pokemon have been helping her train. Those lessons from Ed will hopefully pay off this time- since she'll be participating instead of spectating this year.

She's taking a break though, because reasons, like this video post that showed up on the network a bit ago.]

I don't know, this seems like a pretty good starting point to me- from a completely unbiased standpoint, of course.

Not really, but knowing that you're thinking about her enough to throw yourself at the mercy of the rest of the network is a nice way to say you care.

If she's not making it obvious what kind of things she wants then she might be the kind of girl that likes thoughtful gestures more than material things. [This is so totally cheating.]

Uh, though I've learned that you really shouldn't build yourself up with stuff you can't do. The hard way. All girls like flowers and candy, whether they're on a diet or not. Oh, that's another thing, never mention weight. Even if they bring it up.

Uh...they also really like it when you win 'em stuffed animals from carnival games or claw machines.

Some. She's the kind of person who takes care of everyone else, though, so it's hard to get a feel for.

But he'll give mostly serious answers despite the somewhat teasing nature of the post. He is in one of those romantic drawn together by *~fate~* make you puke relationships and all.]

Seems you're on the right track already.

The best bit of advice I can give you though is simply to listen. She is your friend first, a partner, an equal, and that doesn't change when your relationship shifts into something else. She'll tell you her preferences, you just have to pay attention.

But... be genuine about it when you use what you've learned to do something for her. Not just for the sake of impressing her or looking good yourself, do things because you want to.

[He can recognize when someone's being sincere, or serious, and that actually strikes him pretty deep. His parents had been happily married, but Bruce tended to crash and burn romantically. Mostly due to... prior commitments, in one way or another.

And then there was the Talia thing. Which was better not to think about it, but it happened because they had different goals and wants and maybe there were signals they'd ignored to prevent themselves from getting there... Bruce had rejected Talia because she couldn't be a partner to him. She was stuck between him ad her psycho father.]

Totally not what I was expecting, but... thanks.

Voice of personal experience, or you read that in a book somewhere? Because it's a good book. I'd check it out from the library and suffer the late fees.

My wife and I have been together since we were younger than the two of you are now.

[A short laugh- but there was a definite fondness to both his tone and his expression at the mention of Kushina. His family was one of his favorite subjects, really.]

Kushina's a bit of a motor-mouth but I can tell you I've learned a lot more about her from the things she didn't say.

The easiest way to help her feel special is to be a good listener and observer. A lady loves a man who pays attention to her, so try to remember even the little things, like her favorite color or her hairstyle. She's sure to feel special if you can do that.
